God is at work even when we can't see it

Colossians 1:6  "...all over the world this Gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth."

When we think of the Gospel bearing fruit, we can think of it in large scale such as the missionary work going on right now all over the world.  We may also think of large scale efforts being conducted by churches and other organizations to show the love of Christ through service and evangelism in our own country and in our community.

These examples of "bearing fruit" on a larger scale can be easier to see than the minute ways the Spirit bears fruit sometimes in an individual.  In our "instant" society, we want to see the results and progress now, and get easily frustrated by a lack of what we perceive to be tangible progress.

But like the immeasurably small movement of a glacier or a continent, the fact that we can't readily see the movement doesn't mean it isn't occurring.  And, it is occurring at the pace in which God wants it to occur.

Don't lose patience with yourself or others because the fruit being borne is not always abundant and easily seen.  Rest assured that God is working, and He isn't finished with any of us yet.
